It was interesting seeing an Alien movie where Ripley wasn’t terrified. She always did what had to be done, but she was always terrified. Taking that away… very interesting. I enjoyed it. She was a complete badass. Also a sociopath. And Sigourney Weaver completely inhabited that. She was fascinating to watch. Always, always the most interesting thing on the screen. (more…)

I went to see Avatar with my brother and my parents today, and as we were walking out of the theatre, the guy in front of us said, “Well… it was good until Celine Dion started singing.” Which is funny because it’s always, always true.
